A tribute to a lost treasure, to its hidden meanings, to the art of those who conceived it, and those who created it—the maze floor of the Sansevero Chapel. In this magical and mysterious place in the heart of Naples, the maze floor remained in sight for just over a century. A continuous line of white marble formed gamma-shaped crosses which alternated with concentric squares, with polychrome inlays in perspective to give the illusion of depth. Like other works commissioned by Prince Raimondo di Sangro, this labyrinth also refers to an initiatory wisdom that is expressed through arcane symbols.
